Hello, Mr. Frog!

Yesterday we had an unexpected visitor at our house...a baby frog! Todd thought he had run over it in the driveway when he came home, but upon closer inspection, the frog had just found (what he thought was) a safe hiding spot underneath the tire of Todd's truck. Avery was both excited and frightened by our new friend, only getting close enough to get a peek.

Grandma Sassy also bought Avery a play pool for the backyard in the shape of, you guessed it, a frog! Avery woke Mom up at 5:30 this morning, then had her blow up her new pool. I had told Avery that once everyone got dressed and ready for the day I would take her pool outside and fill it up with water for her. Well, during the "getting ready" process, Avery had wandered downstairs and taken matters into her own hands. Mom found her first, and then called me down to witness the scene for myself: Avery had stripped off all of her clothes, found and dumped a drinking water bottle of water into the pool, peed, and was splashing around in the "water" in our living room! Apparently I wasn't moving fast enough at filling the pool, so she took matters into her own hands.

We did finally get the froggy pool filled (and cleaned) in time for some outdoor water time, and Avery had a great time dumping the water out onto the hot patio and into the grass...she'll get around to actually swimming in the pool maybe later this summer!
